\"ST-awards-290x195\"<\/a>In the midst of our worries from Tom falling ill, it was a very pleasant surprise to learn that we have been nominated for Sailing Today’s ‘Sailor of the Year’ Award for our work in the aftermath of Cyclone Pam.<\/p>\n

We certainly didn’t expect this and using Adina to help the people in Vanuatu was something we strongly wanted to do. We were touched by the donations we received from people around the world enabling us to help and also by the children of Larbert Village Primary School who, having read our blog, raised money to help children in Vanuatu.<\/p>\n

And that help has been so gratefully received. To stand in front of people in need and tell them this is help from people around the world who care is a truly humbling experience. We shall never forget the eyes of amazement and the grateful thanks.<\/p>\n

This nomination has inspired us to try and do more. We’re in a fortunate position to be able to use our yacht to get to hard to reach places and we will continue to try our best to help.<\/p>\n

And as for the award itself, to be up against legend Sir Robin Knox-Johnston and\u00a0one of the people who inspired our trip\u00a0Jimmy Cornell, well, what can we say?!<\/p>\n
