Adina sits at the back of the crowd<\/p><\/div>Having enjoyed a few days in Kajung Selayang on the island of Belitung, Adina is now day-hopping her way up to Singapore.<\/p>\n

The Kajung Selayang anchorage was certainly busy – we haven\u2019t seen that many yachts since Fiji. Many of the yachts are taking part in organised rallies here and we must say they were all very welcoming and it was a great opportunity to make some new friends.<\/p>\n

We particularly enjoyed catching up with good friends Mike and Hugh on Tashi Delek \u2013 wonderful to see them again after last having seen them in Tonga. We missed Mike\u2019s wife Carol who is working hard back in the UK but we hope to see her when she visits Singapore in a few weeks\u2019 time.<\/p>\n

Hugh ready with the anchor on Tashi Delek<\/p><\/div>The waters up to Singapore will be busy and with numerous cargo boats, tankers and worst of<\/p>\n

all Indonesian fishermen and fishing nets. Most yachts, Adina included, elect to take the safe option and move only during the day. Things are not helped by the forest fire smoke haze which lingers in the air and apparently it stretches as far as Singapore and Malaysia.<\/p>\n

Our plans are to arrive in Singapore on 31st<\/sup> October where we will base ourselves at ONE\u00b015 marina, located conveniently close to downtown Singapore and friends Dave and Londa who have recently moved to Singapore. We haven\u2019t been in a marina since Tahiti and Adina will be receiving a good bath with vast quantities of fresh water followed by some polishing to get her looking all shiny again. That and a long list of boat maintenance jobs after a hard season of sailing will keep us busy.<\/p>\n

Flags for Singapore – Susie made the first two!<\/p><\/div>Susie\u2019s parents will be arriving to enjoy the heat and humidity of Singapore with us before we venture off together on a land excursion to Cambodia. The last time we saw them was in the Society Islands in July 2014. After their visit we will move Adina to Puteri Harbour in Malaysia, just over from Singapore, where Tom\u2019s father will be joining us exactly a year after visiting us in Vanuatu. We\u2019re looking forward to a short land trip in Malaysia with him.<\/p>\n

So its boat maintenance and family time planned for November \u2013 oh and a very juicy big steak with some good cabernet sauvignon squeezed in somewhere! Lots to look forward to!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
