Day 4 Stiff winds and fresh bread rolls

Wednesday 9 October 2013

A similar pattern to day 3 onboard Adina as we head to Las Palmas. Overnight we sail with a reefed main and full jib; can’t keep the rhumb line but good winds keep us moving. Around 11am, when the winds start to die, up goes the Parasailor and we helm back down towards the rhumb line. Some stiff winds and we blew a shackle on one of the blocks, quickly replaced with a spare. On the domestic front, scrumptious homemade bread rolls were served for lunch! Tiffany the sparrow left only to be replaced by Timothy. A lot more confident, strutting around the boat, he found Tiffany’s apartment on the fenders but then left after sunset! Day 5’s challenge is to test the watermaker. Also plan to get the fishing rod going as pre-cooked meals have now run out. Looking good for arriving Las Palmas just after midday Wednesday. 3 sightings of dolphins, no more megayachts and generator thankfully still working. Tom and Susie
